A Time to Rake

I got your package and it was greatly needed and appreciated! Loved all the fun things you sent. :]

Our landlady doesn't really upkeep our apartment building too well. So sister Murphy and I took it upon ourselves to rake the leaves. We enlisted an investigator to help--we saw this as an opportunity to teach him about service in the church. We trimmed all the overgrown bushes/vines that were overtaking the porch and we replaced some light bulbs on the deck that have been dark for a long time. Our downstairs neighbors were excited at our motivation and said they would help us finish on Saturday as we didn't have enough daylight to rake all the leaves that day. And on Saturday they did indeed help us and it was almost finished. Our landlady is trying to sell our apartment building and we're hoping they don't kick us out.

An investigator is progressing toward baptism. He's an interesting guy for sure. He's about 50 and was in the military for a good portion of his life and had some interesting experiences there. He struggles with chewing, smoking, and coffee. but we're helping him as best we can--with the Atonement!

I absolutely love the Bible dictionary. It's fantastic and I spend a good amount of time reading about different topics in it. Can I usually remember what I learned? Not always. But I know it's full of some good stuff.

I don't know if I'll be transferred again before I come home or not.

See you soon!
