The Shoe is on the Other Foot

Something is afoot!

There is basically nothing wrong with my foot...kind of. I went to see a doctor in the ward and he took an X-ray of my foot and found that I have a little itty bitty hairline fracture. I don't need a cast or surgery so it's really not that bad. He just gave me a pretty shoe to wear for the next three weeks and some pain pills, and told me to limit my walking to 10 minutes every hour and ice it three times a day. But it really doesn't hurt too bad. It's not like I'm in pain all the time or anything. I mean I walked on it for two weeks before going to him—ha, ha! But it's nice to know what's really going on in my foot now.

My new boot.
How did it happen? The Thursday before Christmas we were walking to the church and it was freezing so I thought it would be a good idea to run the last 10 feet to the door. I landed on it funny and had a shot of pain in my foot. It settled down a little bit and we just kept on walking the next couple weeks. After two weeks I decided it should have been better by then so I went and had it looked at, expecting to be told that there was nothing wrong with it. Imagine my surprise to hear I’ve actually cracked something and need to wear a surgery shoe! Ha, ha! It's on the right side of my right foot and sometimes there is pain in my ankle because I’ve really bothered my tendon there. But that's what the ice is for.

We had some great lessons with investigators and got some new investigators. They are doing great and I really believe they will be baptized someday. The hard part is the Word of Wisdom. They are heavily reliant on coffee and smoking. But I think they can do it.

On Saturday we went to an all-day zone conference. It was spiritual and informative, but it was a lot of sitting. (They need to break it up with some running around!)

We had two investigators at church yesterday! They were awesome and what's cool is that we had talked to both of them about prophets before Sunday and asked them to read the most recent talk from the prophet. And guess what? Most of Sunday was based on...that talk! It was perfect! So that was cool.

Another day we helped a family move. That was cool! The next time I blog, I will be somewhere new since I'm being transferred to Lawrence, Kansas. Don't know the details yet. But it happens to be the farthest east city in the mission.
