Taking it to the Limit

Here I am with my new companion, Sister Gurr.
I was on the bus practically all day Saturday and met my new companion, Sis Judy. She's only been here for about two weeks so she doesn't know the area very well either. So we have a lot to learn.I heard that one of our families came to church on Sunday! I wish I could have been there! I’ve been working with them for months! When I said goodbye to the mother, she just about cried. They have a date set for their baptism. I just love them and wish I could be there for them. But I know I will feel that way about everyone. Anyway, I’m still adjusting here, and I think I’ll take some time to study a map. While we're at the library I’ll look for your books!

On Wednesday we heard that Sister Judy was being transferred on Friday. So a lot of the time I've been here has consisted of settling in and packing up. My new companion is Sister Gurr. She is from Pleasant Grove, Utah. Of course neither of us know the area or the ward but the other missionaries have been very helpful. We’re looking forward to getting to know the ward better.  We're over the allotted miles we're allowed but we've decided it's okay because we weren't here for the first half of the month and my foot is still fractured. My mail is just now starting to catch up with me, so that’s great!

I found four of your books at the library!

Thanks so much for my birthday package! I got it early but hadn't opened anything and so I was able to have something to open on my birthday here in Lawrence. I LOVED the videos on the SD card! Thanks so much for them and all the singing in English and Spanish! I loved ‘em! You made me a cake and everything! haha.

I have an appointment for my foot on Wednesday. Hopefully,  all is well down there. We're going to the temple tomorrow on a zone temple trip. It's a special occasion because we don't have any temples in our mission. The mission president is letting us go occasionally. Every quarter one of three zones gets to go because they’re close enough. So I’m excited to see the new movie.

There is another set of sisters in our district which is awesome. In Dodge you never see any missionaries outside your district unless there is a zone conference. So it's weird to see so many missionaries let alone other sisters. It's nice.
