It was great to see Sister McQuay again.
Hey, Mama, so a lot happened the past few weeks.
First, I was sick for a couple days and I got a blessing and
I started to get a lot better. Sister Payton did a great job at taking care of
me while I was sick. I would say I am now 100% better so that's good. I was
sick for about four days I think.
Just as I was getting better and after I had settled into
things rather nicely we got a call saying that I was being transferred. I
packed all day Thursday and bright and early Friday morning we drove out to Wichita.
So now I'm in Pratt and and I'm serving with Sister McQuay again!! I miss
everyone in Lawrence but I’m so happy to be back in Western Kansas and with my
trainer again! It’s so awesome! The Williams will be going to lunch with us
today because they only live like an hour and half away so we're so excited.
Pratt is a small branch and we had a record breaking 63
people at church on Sunday. That’s including children. I counted about 25
adults. But the people all seem really nice so I’m excited. It’s my first time
serving in a branch. The church building is the smallest I’ve ever seen.

Ukulele lessons
Last Monday the Williams came to visit us! We chatted with
them for a while and we went to lunch with them and then came back to our
apartment and sang some songs as Elder Williams played the guitar. And he gave
me some music to learn on the Uke. I'm having trouble with strumming patterns
and whatnot but I’m working on it.
Wednesday we did service at the little museum in town, we
helped organize yearbooks from way back when and that was fun although nothing
really eventful happened.
Another place we give service is an assisted living place
which of course brings back memories of when we would visit grandma and there
was that lady that would just call out 'help me.' for no reason. Or people in
walkers that would get caught on a corner. Assisted living places make me
uncomfortable. But anyway we help with arts and crafts and I was enlisted to
help one particular lady who had trouble seeing and hearing. I just let her
speak to me and I relied on giving appropriate facial expressions to her
stories because I knew speaking to her wasn't really an option because I don't
like yelling. When it was all over and she was about to leave she turned to me
and said "Don't you feel sorry for me?" Surprised and not sure what
to say, I said "No, this is a great place.” Her response was "I want
you to feel sorry for me" I said, “Oh, okay,” and she then left the room. I
had to laugh.

Oklahoma temple
General Conference was awesome. We met at the chapel early
and had breakfast as a district. Then we had lunch as a district between
sessions and watched the last session. I think so far my favorite talk was
Elder Hollands. But I’ll have to reread them when we get the Ensign.
TOMORROW we're going to the temple though!! I've been lucky
enough to be transferred to two zones that are going to the temple! This time
we're closest to the Oklahoma Temple and we will be going to that one. I'm so
excited to see another temple and another new movie and to see other
missionaries. The nearest missionaries to us are a half an hour away. ANYWAY I’m
excited about the temple!
So this week we went to the Temple!! We went to the Oklahoma
City Temple and boy is it small! We didn't see the newest movie, it was the
same one as last time, but it was still really good and we spent like an hour
afterward with the temple president who answered a lot of questions.
We've been doing a lot of service this week and we’ve been
teaching a lot of people. Four came to church and we’re working with some great
families.
Happy Easter! Love you Mama!
